Kalki 2898 AD Review: Prabhas and Kamal Haasan's Stunning Reveals Set the Stage for an Exciting Sequel
Kalki 2898 AD," directed by Nag Ashwin, stars an ensemble cast including Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani. This ambitious dystopian science-fiction action thriller, inspired by the Mahabharata, combines futurism with mythology.
Prabhas takes on the role of Bhairava, a modern savior, while Deepika Padukone portrays Sumati, a mother-to-be after her roles in Ayan Mukerji's "Brahmastra" and Atlee's "Jawan." Sumati's unborn child, prophesied to be Kalki, the 10th incarnation of Lord Vishnu, is targeted by evil forces.
Amitabh Bachchan plays Ashwatthama, inspired by the immortal character from the Mahabharata, protected by a gemstone on his forehead, which grants him longevity. The trailer features a younger, de-aged version of Amitabh in flashbacks, along with high-octane action sequences.
Kamal Haasan stars as Yaskin, presumably the main antagonist, who seeks to kill Sumati's unborn child, potentially the cure for the Kalyug he has created. Disha Patani plays Roxie, a bounty hunter, while Keerthy Suresh voices Buji, a futuristic car and sidekick to Bhairava.
"Kalki 2898 AD" initially titled "Project K" promises an intriguing plot and grand reveals, setting the stage for an exciting sequel.
