Suicide Squad
Here's everything you need to know about the Suicide Squad movie, including members, photos, and the new trailer from the MTV Movie Awards!
Certainly the most unlikely movie on Warner Bros. slate of DC Comics superhero movies (yes, even more unlikely than Aquaman) was once Suicide Squad. But here we are with a movie about Harley Quinn, Mister J, and the rest of the gang within reach. The DC Extended Universe will get a little more villainous (OK, a lot more) when the Suicide Squad movie arrives in August.
The DC superhero movie schedule will only be officially two movies old in 2016. Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is now doing its thing (whatever that is), and it introduces some key players and concepts that will come in handy for the Justice League movie in 2017. But in the interim, Warner Bros. opted to do something unexpected and start building up their villains...and that's where Suicide Squad comes in.
We probably shouldn't be too surprised. Warner Bros. (along with DC Entertainment) has been quietly positioning the Suicide Squad for stardom over the last several years. From a well-received appearance on Arrow to an animated film where they co-headlined with Batman to a continued profile-raising in the pages of the comics, it's been clear for some time that there were plans for the team. Well, it turns out that plan included a major movie with an all-star cast.

Doctor Strange in Civil War
The weekend might be over, but Warner Bros. is already helping you fight a case of the Mondays with their brand new and wicked Suicide Squad trailer. The latest bit of marketing continues the trend of having slick, breezy, and overtly fun energy in the Suicide Squad films. The pop tunes in question here are a cover of Leslie Gore's "You Don't Own Me"--which suggests that WB might be taking a page out of Showtime's marketing for Penny Dreadful season 3, which used the exact same song to haunting effect last month--and The Sweet's "Ballroom Blitz."Suicide Squad Trailer
